Music Sourcing Specialist

  • Remote

Job description

Job Description:
We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Music Sourcing Specialist to help elevate the storytelling and emotional impact of videos on the Zack D. Films YouTube channel. This is a part-time hourly based role.

Important: This role is focused strictly on music selection and sourcing. You will not be responsible for editing full videos or creating your own music. Your primary job is to curate and deliver music options that our internal editing team will implement.

Responsibilities:

  • Source high-quality music tracks from platforms such as Epidemic Sound, Envato Elements, Artlist, and Motion Array

  • Provide multiple song options that align with the tone, pacing, and emotional beats of different music genres

  • Understand creative briefs and translate them into strong music direction

  • Revise selections based on feedback as needed

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Strong instinct for storytelling through music

  • Experience using royalty-free music platforms (Epidemic Sound, Artlist, etc.)

  • Ability to quickly identify tracks that enhance engagement and pacing

  • Good communication and responsiveness

  • Reliable turnaround times

Compensation:

We are offering a flat hourly rate based on experience level.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with YouTube content creators

  • Understanding of audience retention and how music influences engagement

  • Background in film, editing, or sound design

Project Details:

  • Ongoing part-time work available for the right candidate

  • Remote and flexible

Test Project (Required):

Applicants MUST complete a test project in order to be considered:

  • You will be provided with 3 video test projects without music linked here. Please source, select, and edit the music tracks directly into these videos for submission

    • Pick a single song per project rather than mixing multiple tracks together.

    • You are free to edit within that single track. Pick the portion of the track you think works best for the video. Review our channel to get a feel for what this looks like.

  • This will allow us to evaluate your timing, instincts, and track selection

  • Once complete, upload the projects to google drive and paste the links into your submission along with the music tracks used.

Note: While basic editing is required for the test project, the actual role does NOT involve video editing—only music sourcing and selection.
