Fact Checker
- Remote
Zack D. Films is hiring a resourceful Fact Checker to verify stories, stats, and claims in our viral short-form videos - keeping content accurate, clear, and trusted by millions.
Job description
💡About Zack D. Films
Zack D. Films is a fast-growing 3D animation company producing viral short-form videos for an audience of 40M+. We’re known for engaging, visually compelling viral content - and we’re looking for a detail-oriented team member to help us verify facts and ensure accuracy across our stories.
🎬 Position Overview
As a Fact Checker, you’ll be the guardian of truth behind our viral short-form videos. You’ll review scripts, research key details, and confirm the accuracy of facts, stats, and stories before they reach millions of viewers. Working closely with our writing and editorial team, you’ll make sure every piece of content is both captivating and reliable.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
Verify the accuracy of facts, statistics, and claims within scripts.
Cross-reference information using reputable sources and databases.
Flag inaccuracies, missing context, or misleading phrasing.
Collaborate with writers, animators, and producers to ensure accuracy without sacrificing storytelling.
Maintain an internal fact-checking workflow and knowledge base.
Stay updated on current events, science, history, and viral trends.
✅ What We’re Looking For
Sharp research skills and a strong eye for detail.
Ability to distinguish between reliable sources and low-quality information.
Strong written communication skills to provide clear, actionable fact-check notes.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Familiarity with AI tools (like ChatGPT) for research assistance - paired with a passion for true accuracy.
💡 You’ll Love This Role If…
You’re a naturally curious person who just has to know how things work.
You get genuine satisfaction from digging deep to find the truth - whether it’s a historical fact, a quirky scientific detail, or the answer to a viral internet mystery.
You see fact-checking not as a box-ticking exercise, but as a way to protect integrity and fuel storytelling.
You’d happily spend time chasing down sources just because you need to know.
You light up at the idea of being the one who makes sure millions of people get the right story.
❌ What We’re Not Looking For
Surface-level Googling without verifying credibility.
Fact-checkers who overcomplicate notes instead of giving clear, actionable feedback.
People who need chasing to meet deadlines.
Overly rigid “academic” fact-checking that slows down fast-paced production.
📤 Why Join Us?
Be part of a creative force reaching millions daily.
Play a critical role in ensuring our videos are both viral and credible.
Gain exposure to fast-paced digital media production.
Work remotely with flexibility and freedom.
Grow with a company scaling rapidly across platforms.
💰Compensation
This is a contract-based, hourly role. Compensation will be negotiated based on your experience.
Job requirements
Proven ability to fact-check and research with accuracy and efficiency.
Familiarity with evaluating sources and spotting misinformation.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple scripts under tight deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work closely with writers and editors.
Passion for digital media, storytelling, and accuracy in viral content.
