Zack D. Films is a fast-growing 3D animation company producing viral short-form videos for an audience of 35M+. We’re known for engaging, visually stunning content that blends humor, psychology, and absurdity—and it all starts with a great idea.

💭 Position Overview

As a Content Ideation Specialist, you’ll help us generate the original ideas that fuel our YouTube Shorts and viral animations. You’ll pitch punchy, high-concept story ideas in one or both of our core content categories—Wacky and Brainy. Your job is to ask bold, curious questions and turn them into scroll-stopping concepts.

This role will begin with a short test, followed by a paid per-idea trial, and potentially lead into a longer-term retainer model where you'll consistently contribute high-quality ideas to our creative pipeline. We’re hiring for multiple contract roles and welcome candidates from around the world.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Pitch original short-form video ideas weekly (goal: 20+ per week)

  • Focus ideation efforts on Wacky and/or Brainy categories

  • Write compelling titles and concise explanations for each idea

  • Review top-performing videos on our channel for tone and inspiration

  • Submit ideas that are bold, visual, and easily understandable in 30–60 seconds

  • Incorporate feedback to continually improve idea quality and alignment

💰Compensation

  1. Test Phase: Unpaid (up to 10 ideas submitted)

  2. Trial Phase: $15 per idea selected for production

  3. Retainer Phase: Weekly or monthly flat rate (negotiated based on output and experience) with a target of 20+ ideas per week

Job requirements

A wildly creative mind with the ability to pitch sharp, original concepts.

Strong understanding of what makes content go viral on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Reels.

Excellent written communication—especially for punchy titles and tight summaries.

Self-motivated, organized, and able to hit weekly deadlines consistently.

Bonus: Background/Interest in psychology, philosophy, or science communication.


🧪 Test Project

Your Task:

  • Submit at least 10 ideas

  • Include the category, title and brief explanation for each (1–3 sentences)

  • Optional: Add links or references if it helps explain your idea

    ⏰ Deadline: No hard deadline, but sooner is better

🧠 About the Categories

Wacky – These are wild hypotheticals and surreal scenarios that make people do a double take. They're bold, scroll-stopping, and often border on the impossible—but the execution makes them feel oddly plausible. You take ridiculous concepts seriously, and that’s the fun.
